Training Requirement: Drivers must complete 35 hours of periodic training every five years. This can be broken down into yearly sessions of 7hrs or 3.5hrs to maintain consistent professional development. It is recommended that regulated drivers complete one DCPC course per year, helping them stay on track with the five-year requirement.
Classroom-Based DCPC Courses: Offer classroom-based DCPC training courses monitored and regulated by the DVSA. These sessions ensure drivers receive quality education that meets regulatory standards, covering essential topics such as road safety, fuel efficiency, drivers hours and legal updates.
On the job DCPC Courses: Offer on the job DCPC training shunter courses monitored and regulated by the DVSA. These sessions ensure shunters receive quality education that meets regulatory standards, covering essential topics such as driver and yard safety, indepth walkaround checks and manual entries.
